Review- Tammy Blackwell's book 'Destiny Binds' is the first book from the Timber wolves trilogy. it follows the life of Harper Lee (Scout) Donovan.
I love the way Tammy has written 'Destiny Binds' and I couldn't stop reading, it is a real page turner. Throughout the book you see friendships built and broken, loyalty is tested and love grows. My favourite part of the book has to be the alphabet game between Scout and Jase (who is Scouts step brother who is more like her twin.) at the beginning off the book. Scout- Antimatter, baklava, a cyanide capsule, a D&D manual, an Easy bake oven, the Footlose soundtrack, a Genetically modified goldfish, A Harmonica, an Imaginary friend, a Janitor's uniform, a Kidney off the black market, a Loincloth, and...a Medieval weaponry. Jase's reply- Antimatter, baklava, a cyanide capsule, a Dungeons & Dragons manual, a footlose soundtrack, a genetically modified goldfish named Gabe, a harmonica, an imaginary friend, a janitor's uniform, kidney, loincloth, medieval weaponry for with which to slay and...N. I love how protective Jase and his cousin Charlie are of Scout and her best friend Talley and when Scout meets Alex Cole they go super protective. They don't want Scout spending time with Alex and she agrees not to but fate has other plans for them. When Scout goes into the school news paper she get's paired with Alex. When Jase finds out he freaks.
Scout knows Jase and Charlie are keeping something from her so she decides to play detective and when she goes to the kitchen to get food for her and they boys she leaves a voice recorder, recording in her bag and records Jase and Charlie's conversation and is shocked at what she finds.
After the trip she also finds out that Alex and his brother Liam are also hiding a secret. During a full moon Scout and Alex decide to spend the night together to prove she is safe with him all the time, but that goes wrong when Jase and Charlie attack. One dies and another is seriously injured, but who? To find out pick up your copy of 'Destiny binds'.
The ending off this book is one of the saddest things I have ever read. I cried a lot.
